Taking risks

28th March 2016 by Lucinda Leave a Comment

How are you with risk?

A new study shows that teenage brains are wired differently to those of adults and that taking risks comes more naturally to them. Whilst this might drive their parents potty, it’s actually really important that young people take some chances. Not only does it let you test your physical prowess and help you learn what you can safely do but it’s also really important to make a few mistakes from time to time. Without getting it wrong occasionally,  it’s hard to approach something from a new direction. They call it ‘resilience’ but basically it’s all about being brave enough to push yourself out of your comfort zone and try something new. You might not like or be good at everything but if you don’t have a go then you’ll never know.

Go on…. Take a risk!

The Easter holidays are almost upon us. It’s a funny time of year. The sun might be cracking the flagstones or we might have snow. It’s hard to predict which! It’s always a good time to be outside whatever the great British weather throws at us. I love watching all the birds racing about building nests and the bees starting to buzz! And Easter Eggs to hunt for of course!Watch movie online John Wick: Chapter 2 (2017)Watch movie online The Lego Batman Movie (2017)

With all that time on your hands though, there’s nothing quite like finding a quiet corner and losing yourself in a great story. And guess what? I know just the book. Click on the link to get your hands on your brand new copy of Mummy’s Girl just in time for the holidays.

Mummy’s Girl Hits the Bookshelves

19th October 2015 by Lucinda Leave a Comment

Mummy’s Girl has hit the virtual bookshelves of Amazon with the Kindle edition being made available for £0.99 and the paperback for £5.99. This is the first instalment in the Kitty Cooper Series of books by Lucinda Fox, following the adventures of a group of friends as they navigate the choppy waters of their teenage years.

“I’m really excited about this book being published” said Lucinda. “It is a huge step for me to see this initial stage of the series come out. I originally wrote Mummy’s Girl as a stand alone book, but enjoyed writing the story so much that I wanted to explore the lives of some of the other characters in the book. When some of my early readers asked about these same characters it was obvious what to do next.”

The book centres on the life of Kitty, a teenage girl who is seeks out her birth mother when she believes that her adopted Mum is treating her unfairly. It deals with the tricky issues of young people trying to find their identity and how the grass is not always greener.
